blast from the past
We are having the cabinets in our kitchen updated, which of course means that everything is a mess right now.....boxes everywhere! While removing the cabinet doors, we found an old calendar attached to the inside of one door.
The house was built in 1963, and this calendar is from 1970. My dad told me about the store mentioned on the calendar and that it was very popular at the time! Of course, the calendar is gone now...but what a neat find! Neat...might not be the right word....guess watching those Brady Bunch DVDs have affected my vocabulary!

Finish writing curriculum. DONE!- Buy a new camera.

- Fill the holes we still have after FEMA moved the trees.
Go through all my CDs. DONE--Over 100 CDs gone...so much more room!- Put the flag holder back on the shed.
- Take car to the shop for oil change, alignment and the "recall" problem. Made an appointment.
Create a new background and header for blog....clean it up a little!DONE--Hope you like it!- Paint the front porch.
- Read at least two books that have nothing to do with school.
- Help with the floor replacement! Yea! No carpet!
- Clean out all closets, cabinets & drawers---get organized. STARTED--not finished
- Give someone that works for the oil companies a weekly budget, and they have to pay for their own gas! Let's see how they like it! Just kidding, but thought it would be educational for them and satisfying for me!

crazy summer
I must admit that I have enjoyed this summer much more than last, but it seems that my friends aren't having that much fun. I have one that worked curriculum (just like me), and she is having to redo the work. Yes...redo the work that eight people were paid to do. I know somewhat how she feels, because I had to work extra to clear up some mistakes. I am going to help her finish tomorrow! The sad part is that those other people have been enjoying their summer, and she hasn't.
I have another dear friend that has separated from her husband. She has moved out and is trying to find a way to live on her own, however it is not going to be easy. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers!
My mother retired, and today was her last day at work. She is going to struggle with this change, because she loved her job and the people she work with for the past twelve years. I am going to have to remember to patient (we are opposites) as she tries to find her way at this change in her life!
Finally
- Finally, I am back and ready to blog again. I've have missed this so much.
- Finally, I have redesigned the site. It's still not what I wanted, but will have to do. For those that saw squarespace offers a wide variety of templates, let me be the first to say that they are not the most creative and do not always match personality. You can find more templates for wordpress and blogger than you can for squarespace. Oh well....it does have perks too.
- Finally, I am able to relax a little and enjoy my summer vacation.
- Hmm...I finally posted this, and it's almost 2 in the morning. Will have to come back tomorrow!
Thursday Thirteen #38
13 random things.
- I am so ecstatic that state testing is over!!!
- I am thrilled that I DON'T have to walk around the room for two hours (or longer) while they take a test.
- I can't believe that the students made it two hours or more without having to go to the bathroom.
- I don't have to pack my classroom, because we are not getting the new floors.
- I am waiting on my test results to see what strange illness I have now.
- My joints are so swollen, yet it doesn't seem to be arthritis.
- I was told it could be a major allergic reaction.
- Whatever it is I want it to GO AWAY!
- I only have four more days with students.
- I have a total of six more days before summer vacation.
- The students have officially let loose and forgotten that we still have procedures.
- I am so tired of repeating the same names over and over. I will probably say them during the summer just because it seems normal.
- I hope I feel better in the morning!
