13 Things I Have To Do Before Christmas Break (Next Wednesday)

  1. Grade all of my papers, including the nine weeks exam, and put the grades into the gradebook.
  2. Make sure that my students have made-up all of their work.  I have one student that gets less than half of her work done in one day.
  3. Greet parents tomorrow during the Christmas lunch and hope that my students don't act crazy-----as if it's the first day of school.
  4. Fill the stockings for my students....all 25 of them.
  5. Have a little Christmas gathering with my co-workers.  Should be fun...no students around!!! :)
  6. Wrap all of my gifts for work.....I tend to wait to the last minute to do this. WHICH MAKES ME GROUCHY!!!
  7. Have a back-up gift in case their is someone I have forgotten. Horrible!!! I know it's horrible, but I hate to screw things up by not having one!
  8. Get my lesson plans done for when we return.
  9. Schedule a day during the break to go to work and get things together for the new year!
  10. Find Christmas related activities for them to do next week.  It's a three day week....what were they thinking?
  11. Make sure we have everything for the Christmas Party.
  12. Try not to have a complete and total breakdown.......my students are driving me -quickly- down a long road of insanity.
  13. Walk out of the building, next Wednesday, as quickly as possible with nothing to worry about (school-related)

I can relate. I teach fourth grade. Our last day is Friday so I'm under the gun a little bit more. I'm just surviving until Friday at 3:15!

I remember those days ~ things were always nuts right before any holiday break...but Christmas was the WORST! I taught 3rd grade for 6 years before becoming a stay at home mom when my son was born last November. As funny as it sounds, I know how nuts those days before Christmas were and how crazy kids can make you...but boy to I miss it!

Happy Thursday!

You are a hell of a teacher, to do all this. It reminds me to appreciate my son's teacher all the more (and let me tell you, she's fantastic, and then some).

Have a great week and don't stress out TOO much as you get all this done.

Wow! I taught high school history and Algebra I for nine years before I had my son six years ago. I remember the days of excitement leading up to Christmas break! It was contagious!

The students were a little wild, but it was still fun, and sometimes I miss those days. Maybe, one day, I will teach again!

Good luck with everything! I admire you teachers - it's a tough job, and I certainly couldn't do it.

I hope you have a relaxing and enjoyable break.

I can relate, we homeschool and I still have to do all that work too (grading papers, entering grades into computer, etc). Thanks for sharing and stopping by my blog.

Your students are very blessed to have such a wonderful, caring teacher! I can tell you care for them alot! I tagged you for a meme because I am trying to get to know more people. I know this time of year is crazy so I completely understand if you don't do it!

Merry Christmas Kelli!

Hope you've made some good progress on your list! 25 stockings, that's a lot to fill...but you're almost done for the semester.
