I'm just a country girl from down south, with a love for God, books, dreaming, and being creative. I have a fondness for all things 80s, an eclectic taste in music and a passion for dogs, photography and writing. I like to spend time surfing the web, reading and oddly enough, cutting the grass. I hope you will find something interesting, wacky or creative enough to make you want to sit and visit for a while. Nablopomo

thursday 13.jpg

13 random thoughts about this week!

I couldn't think of anything else!

 1. I have meeting for the next two days.....yea!...out of the classroom!
 2. I love the smiles that I got from my students on the first day after Thanksgiving break!
 3. I bought an iDOG....and it's just adorable!
 4. I like the Christmas song on the JCPenney commercial.
 5. I haven't done any Christmas shopping! urgh!!!! This is not a good thing.
 6. I feel asleep last night at 6.....at first it was great, but then I started tossing and turning at 2 this morning!
 7. My favorite decorations are snowmen, so I have them in my classroom and at home! My dog barks at the ones that sing.
 8. The milk chocolate covered nutter butter cookies are NOT as good as the original.
 9. COLD....I am ready for colder weather. It was 75 degrees today....that is not the weather you want for the winter holidays. A cold front is coming....should get some colder weather!
 10. Since it's getting cold, I can wrap up in my favorite blanket this weekend!
 11. I always want to get a haircut about this time of year.....I don't know why!
 12. I got an angry note from a parent today complaining about an office referral (truly his fault)......why did I only hear from her when it's something she doesn't like. Never have gotten a thank you for the free tutoring, phone calls or chances to redo work! Hummm!
 13. I have not idea what to get my students for Christmas......affordable is the key!

Hope this doesn't double-post.

I'd love to live in an area where 75 degrees is considered cold. It was -41 here yesterday.

How many kids and what ages? Perhaps we can help with ideas for gifts other than chocolate covered nutter butters? My wife and I like the white-chocolate dipped oreos.

My sister (who's 45) bought an Idog last year when they were really scarce. She loves it. I'm ready for cold and snow myself. (Don't tell anyone)

I've been WONDERING about those iDogs! You really like it? Hmmm... Might need to add that to one of our lists. ;)

I've posted my Thursday Thirteen, too. Enjoy!

I taught for nine years, and (#12) is so true sometimes! I did get some grateful parents, but usually you only hear about the bad things you did to their child.

Now that I have a son in school, I try to be very careful of that kind of attitude.

All in all, it sounds like a pretty good week - except for that crabby parent. I love your winter template! Very festive. I'm sitting here missing the 75 degree weather we had yesterday... we're in the midst of an ice storm right now! You have a fabulous Thursday, and thanks for stopping by!

I haven't done any Christmas shopping yet either. I think I'm thinking about what to get and then when I have a list I'll buy it all at once. Need to buy some lights for my tree though...

Like your snowman blog header :)

The original Nutter Butters are the best.

We're arctually supposed to be getting some cold weather here in Alabama this weekend. Of course, after a few days of it, I'll be complaining about it being too cold. I mean, anything below 60 is freezing here.

I love it when I can come home at and fall asleep early. I'm tired enough to do it every day, but I usually have too much to do.

I can sympathize with everything on this list...although 75 degrees? cold? Wherever you are, I want to be there immediately. Although, then I wouldn't have the day off today because of the snow.

And don't you hate it that parents only contact you when they're angry?! I had to transfer a parent to a guidance counselor the other day because I wanted to tell her that if she thinks her child is such an angel, then homeschool him.

Thanks for stopping by to read my list.

thanks for commenting on my TT! My mom bought my son an I-dog for Christmas. Do you know if it works with cd players? He doesn't have an mp3 player, so I was curious if its cross-compatible.

Thanks for commenting on my new T13-#1, Kelli. I totally respect your teaching dilemna's and feel for your time, stress, sleep deprevation and all. But 75 degrees! I wish (tho I don't like it to be higher than that even in summer); it's in the 20's today and was in the 60's 2 days ago - burr!
